John F Silah conducted an interview with Mohamed S Jalloh – a 25 year old man, living in Kabala. Mohamed was born in 1988 in the Village called Kumala, Koinadugu District – Nieni Chiefdom.
This is Mohamed’s story:
“I started my education in M C A Primary school Kumala, after that I attend at St Anthony Junior Secondary School in Yiffin Nieni Chiefdom. [Later] I move to Kabala were I continue my Senior Secondary School at Loma Secondary School were I get my West Africa Senior Secondary School Examination(WASSE). I want to continue my education, but unfortunately, I lost my Father who is responsible my school.
I decided to do Farming so I can get my school fees. But the work and learning cannot goes together.
After that a disease Ebola Virus started in Kailahun District. By the movement of people the disease spread all over the country.
I am in Kabala at that time my Village called Kumala contract the Virus. I lost five members of my family, including my lovely mother, Mamy Saio Kondeh.
Finally, I don’t have no hope. Only God.”
